A kick to the face and a punch to the stomach
Try to move past but I can’t leave from it
See me through the walls and watch me collapse
Sing a song for me and maybe cry perhaps
But I know you’ll just watch as my life sets fire
And I’ll nod in your direction, stare and admire
All you have to do is watch the pain and never live it
You never reap what you sow, no, you always give it
But in the end there’s gonna be hope you
And I’ll be gone and never had made it through
I broke this line between man and beast
I killed what good was left and didn’t care the least
Now I’m stuck within the dangerous walls of my own mind
Looking for a way out, but I’m blind
Feel along the walls for a sense of recognition
Pour fire on this gasoline and start the ignition
All I ever wanted was a day with you
Just lay and watch stars fall til one or two
Then maybe I can go for that ride that you offered
And we scream and laugh without bein bothered
But that’s not how my life and planet Earth spins
We pray for the day when we can raise our chins
But we always get knocked back and told to listen
Lower our heads and let all the tears glisten
We dig an early grave and write our own names
On the tombstone we made then realize it’s no longer a game
Oceans flow and mountains crumble
Our mouths stay closed, not even a mumble
Take a look back and realize what you created
A lifestyle sucked of love and left feeling jaded
You wanted to be the best man you could
But ended up dying alone within the woods
Nature created you and took you back
The light you were born with has now faded to black
And all that remains is the memory of who you were
No one will even see it clearly, it’s all just a blur
Now lay me down so I can fall asleep
So I can never wake up and never say another peep
Thank you for the time that I was given
For never letting me give up on livin’
The world will continue in motion
And I’ll lay peacefully, sinking in the ocean
