Setting the Right Goals The Starting Point to Your Business and Personal Success
It's proven time and time again, that if you don't practice goal setting, you'll be far less likely to achieve your goals. When it comes to setting the right goals including personal goals and business goals this article sets you on the right path.
You can't hit a target that you can't see. The starting point of great success is when you sit down and decide exactly what you really want in every area of your life. Then you sketch a plan to make it happen.
There have been countless studies done comparing people who took the time to set goals and people who did not. Almost without fail, those who set their goals and stayed focused on those goals achieved their objectives. They won.
And those who had no particular goal came up far short.
The most remarkable thing about setting and focusing on goals it works on every facet of life! When business owners set goals, their odds of becoming more profitable skyrocket. When athletes set goals, they invariably get stronger, faster, and better. People get wealthier, healthier, more spiritually connected, and more popular with friends and family.
And it's simple. Setting your goals and referring to them daily and weekly simply takes a little time, a pencil, and some paper.
Many prominent business people start their day with either a written or a mental to-do list. If you were to take away their to-do lists, many of them would be lost. It would be mid-morning before they did anything productive. Then the day would end without half of their objectives met.
Yet, as much as many of us rely on our daily or weekly to-do lists, only about 5% of us take the time to regularly shape our own future by setting goals.
Here are the top five reasons why you should set goals:
1) INCREASED CLARITY:You will have more CLARITY: You have to know where you want to go to get there. Setting goals requires you to develop clarity. This is the first and most important step to creating a life that you love and want.
2) STRONGER FOCUS:You will develop a stronger FOCUS: Whatever you focus on, you get more of. If you have clear goals and focus on them, you will get more of what you DO want (your goals) and less of what you don't want.
3) GREATER EFFICIENCY: When you get clear about where you want to go, you set up steps and actions to get there. This increases your efficiency because you are working on what is really important. When you work on what's important, you will accomplish more than you ever expected.
4) INCREASED SELF-CONFIDENCE: As you set and reach goals, you become more confident in your ability to do what you say and get what you want in life. Success breeds more successes.
5) BETTER RESULTS: Focus on your goals in every part of your life if you want to maximize your results!
