George Costanza, of Seinfeld fame, once said "leave on a high note." Brett Favre should listen and learn this mantra as he prepares to once again don yet another team's colors. From Green Bay to New York to Minnesota Brett Favre has certainly traveled the United States. How much longer can this go on? How many more teams will take a chance on this aging quarterback?

In his final season with the Packers, Brett Favre delivered an amazing performance. No the team did not make it to the Super Bowl but they went further than most predicted and at this point it was time to pass the reigns of the team over to Aaron Rodgers. As he cried on national television, Brett Favre said goodbye to is beloved Packers and was set to move on to the next phase of his life. But wait; he was not ready to leave. He still had good years left in him. So ignoring his swan song, Brett Favre decided to come out of retirement.

At this point we have said goodbye to Mr. Favre not once but twice and both times he has returned for "one more year." An athlete's body has an expiration date. Brett Favre is not a kicker, he is a quarterback and his body can no longer take the abuse. Plus, is it not time to turn the game over to the next generation of players? Admirably the Packers stuck with Aaron Rodgers and did not allow Favre back to the starting job, but it seems as if there is always going to be a team waiting in the wings, willing to give him one more shot.

Move on Mr. Favre! Having a team spend the money on you, helping you to learn new offenses, and conditioning your tired, old body just seems wrong. Everyone realizes that it is hard to walk away from something that you have loved so much but getting young players hopes up when they think you still have the skills is wrong as well. We all get old and we all realize that our bodies are not able to perform the same. Use what you have learned to coach, teach or just get out there and enjoy life. As much as we love football, there is more to life out there. I loved you in Green Bay, I tolerated you in New York (for the sake of Jerricho Cotchery) and I will ignore you in Minnesota. That is how far you have come.
