The most popular websites of today are, understandably so, also some of the most advanced. The greatest majority also offer a variety of services and are quite user friendly to nearly any level of internet expertise, from basic to advanced.
Social networking sites have recently skyrocketed in popularity with the vast marketing capabilities currently opening up and available on the web, along with the opportunities offered for friends and families to connect. Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace are three of the most heard-of websites today, and have quickly gathered a huge following, both at the corporate and at the end-user level. Endless networking opportunities keep things interesting, and real people keep things fun and up-to-date.
With searching the web being such a popular, and even necessary everyday activity for any internet user, search engines are a central hub of the internet. More and more search engines continue to enter the ring and vie for your attention.
Google, the most widely popular search engine, offers an amazing array of web-based services for any business professional, along with a long string of services such as news, ebooks, maps, email, shopping, etc., that nearly anyone who is even somewhat familiar with the web could find useful and could use easily. Yahoo is another such search engine, with far-reaching popularity and a wide variety of services, although it is not nearly as advanced as Google.
Shopping took on a whole new twist for millions of people with the ever increasing popularity of eBay, one of the most well-known websites on earth. It's online auctions are known to be some of the greatest bargain-bin shopping there is, with basically anything that could be bought being what someone could find in it. Along with the myriads of opportunities available for its shopping, eBay also offers a great way to make some home-based income for millions of entrepreneurs, thus holding it as a rock-steady force in the 'most popular websites" arena.
Entertainment is another niche that took on quick changes with the advent of YouTube, a wildly popular website that users upload video clips to for viewers and reviewers to enjoy. Many of these short videos have gone viral through this venue, bringing us humor and amazement, while sometimes even bringing its formerly unknown stars to fame. This popular website is often featured on tv news shows and the like, for the unique and refreshing views of its users.
Success often brings popularity.
