Tips for living with psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin condition in which skin cells start growing rapidly. In normal condition new skin cells grow in weeks, but because of psoriasis skin cells start growing in days without shedding the old skin and this causes patches of excess cells on the skin. Psoriasis is like a volcano, which exists in the life of patients silently and when it aggravates disturbs their every aspect of life. It is not easy to live with psoriasis as it causes unbearable pain and itchiness, when it aggravates. There is no specific cure available for psoriasis, but some treatment options are available to provide some relief from pain and lessen the effects of this disease.

The people who suffer from psoriasis not only face physical problems associated with this disease, but also go through mental trauma. They start losing their confidence because of psoriasis spoils their looks. In such situation one can follow certain tips to live a normal life with psoriasis.

# Do not remain stressed/depressed: It is very important for everyone that how they look and same thing applies to the people who suffer from psoriasis, but psoriasis affects their looks. It ruins the personal and social life of affected person. They start losing their confidence and trust. They start remaining depressed. Psoriasis is a disease, which is also associated with our emotional well-being. Depression/stress can alleviate psoriasis or make the situation worse. Thus, it is necessary to keep the stress away. Exercise, music, books, meditation and positive thoughts can help in reducing the stress. One should avoid negative thoughts and company of such people who discourage them.

# Always chose right clothes: Synthetic material is not suitable for the patients of psoriasis as they can cause irritation and itchiness. Psoriasis makes the skin very fragile and rough and synthetic clothes can hurt it. Cotton and soft clothes gives a soothing feeling to the skin, so one should always wear dresses made of cotton material. Tight clothes are not a good choice for the people who are suffering from psoriasis as tight clothes can damage the sensitive and affected skin parts.

# Keep skin moisturized: Because of psoriasis skin becomes very sensitive and dry. Dryness causes more irritation and itchiness, thus, it is necessary to keep skin moisturized all the time.

# Avoid chemical based products: As we know psoriasis makes the skin very delicate and sensitive. Thus, in such condition it is advised to avoid the use of chemical based products on the skin. It is suggested to use natural products on the skin.
