Vampires in modern society

We all have our own stereotypes when it comes to fantasy ideas. Dragons, unicorns, vampires; anything that is mythological is perceived differently by everyone. I say "dragon," one person thinks green and scaly immediately, while the other person thinks fire-breathing. How could one idea be perceived in two ways? When something is not "real" or mythological, people can never be definite on what it truly is. So, with all of this said, I would like you to grab all of your ideas, and put them to the side, while I tell you about mine.

If vampires were to enter our modern society, I believe they would be hidden from us by the government. Vampires could initially be used as a weapon. They blend into our society, and yet they are something completely different. One wrong word released by our mouth, and our lives could be over in a flash, if we had infuriated the vampire. So, obviously, the government can not allow such a thing to happen. The papers would read, "Crazy Killers on The Loose." With killing in mind, the government could use the vampires to their advantage.

Lets walk into a museum. It is crowded with people, or at least we think they are all 'people.' The government has sent out spies. These spies carry no weapons, for they ARE the built-in weapon. They are none other than vampires. There you go, the government has found a way to integrate vampires into society. Except, there are still many accidents.

After the government realizes that the vampires are a possible threat, they throw them all in jail. With a vampire's keen sense, metal bars can not consolidate you! So, three hours later, after being locked up, the vampires are roaming the streets again, looking for their next victim, or should I say snack. Unfortunately, known of these vampires are good vampires. Some are deceiving, and appear to be good people, but next thing you know, you are a bloodless corpse, in the middle of an alley. The next morning's news headline, "Crazy Killers are Back!" Too late for you, sadly.

So, once again, you are probably thinking: This is nothing like I perceived. All I can say to that is: I hope you perceive things in multiple ways now, for sometimes, things are nothing like they seem. And yet, many times they are, pondering is the only way to remember all the possibilities, so ponder.
