For all those that have a dirty little secret passion to impersonate in a second life characters such as Tony Soprano or Don Corleone, Mafia Wars brings this secret dream to life. Expect to engage in fights, dirty jobs and missions as you invest you hard earned money into purchasing properties such as restaurants, bars, casino and hotels.

It all starts with choosing what type of mobster you will be. You can select between maniac, fearless and mogul. For a first time player it may be difficult to choose between the three because there is no explanation of what the differences are.

Maniac

The main feature of maniac is the fact that the energy will regenerate every 1 to 3 minutes versus every 5. If you choose the ''Button Man'' feature which is found in ''My mafia'' under the ''Promote'' button, you may have higher chances to win almost every fight you initiate. This can be quite boring however long term.

Fearless

The main feature of fearless is the fact that your health will regenerate at a much faster rate than the others.. Also you are eligible to become a Top Mafia Wheel Man that will make you perform jobs with a small chance of not losing any energy.

Mogul

Mogul is the best money maker. The cash flow of this character will come quicker than in the other characters. Expect the cash to arrive every 54 minutes rather than every hour.

Name Your Character

Now that you have chosen the nature of your character, get creative and choose a cool name. A favorite is to put the mafia word ''Don'' followed by your last name. However, you are free to name your character what you want.

Upon starting the game you will see how much money you have, your general state of health, your energy level and the amount of stamina. Always keep an eye on these and replenish as necessary.

Some Mafia Wars Game Tips

Being Short on Money

Luckily, you cannot go in debt in this game. Therefore, if you go bankrupt your main goal should be to start seeing some green in your pockets. Try to do as many jobs as you can and then as you get your hands on properties try to earn some residual income. Mafia Mike's franchise is a great source of residual income. Remember to always keep some money aside to cover some unexpected (or better expected) hospital bills.

The Power of Family

Generally, the larger the family the stronger you will be in fights. Because you will have plenty of weapons available, you will be more advantaged than smaller clans. Inviting friends
