How to treat school kids for head lice with olive oil.

How many parents of elementary school kids, receive notes of lice problems in their classrooms every year? I would say all parents do. Imagine the horror on a mother's face when she finds out her child has lice. The first thing she might think Oh my god! Bugs, in my child's hair! what will I do?! How do I get rid of them? Do my other kids have them too? This is exactly what happened to me once.

When your child ends up having that problem, what do you do? Most people will run to the drug store to get a medical treatment, which is basically an insecticide.
But before using it on your precious little ones, please consider this;

- Do your research on what is in this medication?
- What side effects will it cause?
- Will it contribute to cancer down the road?
- Are there any other alternatives, and effective ways to deal with this problem?
- Are any of the alternative ways natural, and harmless to the child?

Just because this medication comes from a pharmacy, it doesn't mean it is good to use! Educating yourself about the contents of this product, helps your child have a healthier life down the road. The body can absorb so much of any harmful chemical. It is like an empty cup, every time the body gets exposed to a harmful substance, the cup will get a little bit more full. Everybody now knows about all the pollution we deal with everyday through out our lives. It is in our food, water, and the air that we breath. We don't need additional chemical substances to add to the list.

Two years ago when I discovered lice in one of my children's hair. I turned to the internet for some research about this insect's anatomy, and the life cycle of lice. It was quit easy getting rid of them. I didn't even had to buy anything. In fact all what I needed was what we use on our salad all the time, olive oil. But any edible oil will do. The oil suffocates the adult lice and the juvenile lice called nymphs, but not the eggs. Most people will get a lice comb, and spend tedious hours going through the hair. I say don't bother. There is an easier, and painless way to get rid of the eggs too. Repeat the oil treatment after ten days. That is how long it will take for the eggs to hatch. The reason oil works is because lice have a hole on one end of it's body for breathing. Oil plugs the hole which the lice breath from, killing them by suffocating them.

Although researchers say that using oil is not tested for effectiveness on lice. Why would they test oil?! They are not going to promote a product
