Why is college not the answer for every student?

College is not the right choice for everyone. There are many other options for a student that may be a better choice then going to college.

There are many reasons why college is not right for every student. Sometimes going to a school or university for four years full time may be difficult. Maybe the student does not have enough money to pay for books and classes and has no other way of recieving money. Maybe they need more motivation. Or maybe it is that the student is to busy with other things in their life, like a job or their family.

Whatever the reason there are still other ways for these students to get an education in the areas they want.

The first option which is a better choice for someone who does not want to go to a four year college is a trade school. In a trade school you get an education based on specific skill. These schools are similar to a college but are smaller. They do not have as many students. In these schools you recieve an education faster and the material is based more on preparing you for a carrer right after you get out of trade school.

A second option is taking an on line class. People or students like to do this because they learn the material on their own and on their own time. This still allows the student to be a part of a college. Taking on-line classes is much different then being in the classroom. This is convient because students can work and have class right from their own home. This is a good option who do not like being in a classroom with a big group of students. There are some disadvantages too. As being an on-line student you do not get the lectures from the teacher which makes you miss out on some of the material that you could learn. It also means that it is harder to ask questions when you need help and takes more effort on the students part.

The last option is best for students who are not the right ones for college. If you already know the carrer you want to enter into then choosing to go to a carreer readiness school may be the right choice. These schools are a lot like trade schools. These schools usually have very short classes. The purpose of these schools is to train you or to teach you how to do the job before you start work.

For many reasons college is not right for everyone. If you do not think it is right for you it may be a good idea to check out what other options you have.
