Things that can break up a friendship

Friends are one of our treasured possessions on earth. Even if we have our loved ones and relatives around us, we need other people whom we called FRIENDS. Life is so dull without friends. I, for one, want to have lots of friends. I enjoyed the company of friends. When I was yet in my country, I have friends everywhere I go. When I migrated, as if I lost everything. Why? because I can never find friendship that I usually have in my home place. Every time people would asked me about the things I missed now that I am away from home? my answer is FRIENDS. I missed my friends. It is hard to find the kind of friends I have in my home place.

In my years of experience being with my friends, I've learned some things that can ruin or break up friendship.

1. Dishonesty. This is the number one friendship breaker. When your friend is dishonest with you, it will ruin your friendship and eventually break your relationship as friends. I personally do not like a dishonest person; therefore, if my friend is not true and honest with me, what is the point of having him/her as a friend? You can not trust a person who is not honest. You will not be happy around people who have this attitude and this will lead to breaking up the friendship.

2. Communication Gap. When communication is not constant due to busy schedule or maybe distance factor, this is also one reason of breaking up the friendship. When one has no update about the whereabouts of the other, the friendship eventually die. It is hard to maintain good relationship when you don't know what is going on with your friend.

3. Jealousy. When jealousy comes in friendship, it eventually ruins the relationship. This is very common to any group of friends men and women, young and old. We get jealous when our friends spend more time with others and we are left unattended. We felt insecure and hurt and eventually withdraw and break the friendship.

4. High expectations not met. When we expect too much from a friend and our expectations are not meet, this is a common ground for breaking up the friendship. Well, if we just bear it in mind that no one is perfect, and in friendship we should make a big room for consideration for whatever weakness our friend has our friendship will last longer. We should avoid too much expectation to have a long lasting friendship.

If we are patient and understanding, if we have big room for consideration with the attitudes and values of our friends, We can avoid breaking up the friendship. Acceptance of whoever and whatever she/he is would keep our friendship intact.
