We all know the saying "Laughter is the best medicine", and it is indeed. Laughing is an important ingredient of a fulfilled life. When someone smiles, laughs, giggles, they are immediately sending out good vibrations. Moreover, they are giving their body the best possible treatment.
There is nothing negative about laughing. Thus it is so necessary, appealing and good for your health. Laughter always signals that you are a happy, satisfied, relaxed person.
On average a children laugh up to 400 times a day whereas adults do it only 17 times a day, according to a study. When you compare these two numbers, it really makes you think about it. Actually, it is really sad that laughter is so neglected as we grow up.
Here is a list of other benefits of a good laughter for your health:
1. Laughter helps you to get rid of depression. How? Because it reduces tension and stress, and lowers irritation and anxiety. Therefore you are not feeling so much depressed anymore.
2. Laughter provides you a kind of small work-out. Remember when you laugh so much that your tummy hurts? This is a result of contraction of your abdominal muscles. Moreover, your shoulders work out also. Actually, laughing 100 times equals 10 minutes on the rowing machine or 15 minutes on an exercise bike.
3. Laughter is a good way to find a partner, boyfriend. How? Men love women who laugh when they are with them. We all know how important humor is in a relationship. So, keep smiling.
4. Laughter is good for your social life and it can really improve it. People are attracted to those who make them laugh. In fact, at work your colleagues will like you more if you have a sense of humor. Your productiveness will also be higher.
5 Laughter is also good for your immune system. You will be developing the number of anti-body producing T cells. Then your chance to catch a cold will be lower. It also lowers the levels of some hormones connected with stress so you will feel more relaxed.
6. Laughter also helps you to feel less pain. The endorphins will be released into your body system and thus you will instantly feel better.
7. Laughter is good for your heart. Laughter has been considered good for your body because of the way the blood flows through your body. According to a research by heart specialists at University of Maryland, 15 minutes of laughter a day equals 30 minutes of exercise 3 times a week.
8. Laughter is also good for your blood pressure. People who laugh regularly more than those who don't have a normal blood pressure. When they laugh, their blood pressure first rises, but then it lowers. After that you breathe more deeply and your blood is rich with oxygen.
9. Your breathing is also improving with laughing. Laughter empties your lungs of more air than it takes. Thus the effect of deep breathing.
10. Then another one big plus - it helps you to lose weight. Who wouldn't like that? It burns off calories more quickly and stimulates your metabolism to work faster.
Laughter is a powerful way of improving your life, and it is cheap and available. We should never underestimate its strength.
