I walk alone

Heart shattering

Dreams fading

Hope dying

With every step

I trudge onward toward

Despair

I can see it, on the horizon

Despair is waiting,

Calling my name

Soon I will call it home.

I gave up trying to turn around

A long time ago

Joy is far behind me

Too far to reach

And so I walk alone

Towards despair

Step after step

Alone

Because Love and Friendship

Are part of Joy

Despair hosts loneliness

And I walk toward Despair

Every step agony

Blood dripping from my soul

And I feel it building like a volcano

And I open my scarred lips

Screaming, a chilling wail

And I try to turn around,

One last time

But it's impossible

And as I plod into Despair

I scream again,

And I moan

The song of the broken.
