Optimal health is something the average person seeks. One thing that plays a vital role in our overall health is the food we eat. There are certain foods we eat that can affect our immune functions for better or worse. Some foods will definitely provide your body with more than enough energy to help you get through the day and do what you need to do. Then there are what many people call superfoods. These kinds of foods can prevent disease, prevent cancer, reduce asthma attacks, repair cellular damage, prevent heart disease, lower cholesterol, prolong your lifespan, and they even have an effect on your overall mood and mental state.
What is it that makes superfoods what they are? What gives them so much power in your life? Superfoods carry in them the nutrients your body needs to optimize its health. It is these types of foods that are responsible for keeping you alive and well. The nutrients they carry range from antioxidents to simple minerals.
What superfoods should you include in your diet? All of them, unless you happen to be allergic to some of them, but every one of these types of foods have something valuable to provide your body. Some examples of superfoods are oranges, they are a good source of vitamin C, which is known for boosting the immune system preventing diseases like the flu. Another good example of superfoods is the blueberry. A blueberry is also a good source of vitamin C, and it also contains potassium. They are also packed with phytoflavanoids. Blueberries are anti-inflammatory, which means they prevent or fix inflammations which are a cause for chronic illnesses. Another superfood is fish, they are a good source of omega 3 which is good for the heart, joints, and memory. Soy is also a good food. It is beneficial in lowering cholesterol which lowers the risk of heart problems. It is also good to make sure your diet is high in fiber because fiber is beneficial in weight management. Fiber is found in whole grains, beans, fruits and vegetables.
There are many superfoods out there that can be included in your diet. Each superfood provides its own set of benefits and is vital to your overall function. These foods will add many years to your life, and even slow down your aging, and even prevent age related pains, ultimately improving the quality of your life. These types of foods should definitely be included in your overall diet, you will be glad you included them years down the line.
