It is no secret the Terrell Owens is one of the greatest receivers in the game today. He is second in all-time receiving touchdowns behind Jerry Rice and he holds the NFL record with 20 receptions in a single game. But as you may know, for all the good he does on the field, he creates distractions and turmoil of the field. Know widely as T.O., he has had problems at every team he has stopped at along the way. Now the question is how will he do in Buffalo?
The Buffalo Bills is an organization that has been in need of attention since the days of Jim Kelly. The 2008 season was the third in a row with the same losing record of 7-9. That was the ninth straight season without making the playoffs. In need of help the organization turned to Terrell Owens who was released by the Dallas Cowboys, for some help.
The have some weapons on offense and with Terrell they have a better chance to score every drive down the field. With Marshawn Lynch at the running back, Trent Edwards at quarterback and Terrell at wide receiver, it is clear that they have a lot of talent at the skill positions. On defense however, it is not clear. They had some players leave and last year their defense was not that good anyway.
If the question was will the Buffalo Bills make the playoffs this year, the answer is probably no. But what will T.O. do? Will he help or hurt the team and organization.
No one questions Terrell Owens's work ethic on the practice field and game ability. At every training camp he has been at he has worked hard and encouraged the entire team to do the same. I think that after being cut by the Cowboys has given Terrell has something to prove. He wants to show everyone that it does not have to be about him for once. I think he goes in there plays great on a bad team, and then goes somewhere else where he can make more money, and have a better chance to win.
All Buffalo Bills fans want for Christmas is a winning season and playoff appearance. Any more then that would be a completely unexpected surprise. They are hoping that he will impact the season in a positive way and give new life to a dead team. It will be fun to watch what happens and no matter good or bad, the T.O. show is coming to Buffalo.
