The date for your Halloween party is creeping up. You've got Halloween decorations, Halloween crafts and some spooktacular music lined up. Now it's time for some unique Halloween food party ideas.
Yummy Mummies with Bones and Blood:
Part of creating a festive Halloween menu is simply renaming ordinary kid favorites with fun Halloween themed names. Pigs in a blanket, or hot dogs wrapped in crescent dough rolls, can easily be presented as Yummy Mummies. Would you serve French fries and ketchup on Halloween? No way. Those are Bones and Blood.
Pumpkin Pie Smoothies:
You don't have to bake all day to serve up the delicious flavor of pumpkin pie. A fast and easy, no cook Pumpkin Pie Smoothie is fun and it's really healthy too. (Just don't tell the little goblins and they'll probably want more.)
Over the years we've experimented with this recipe and we think it's frighteningly good. This will serve four large servings or eight small ones if you're hosting young trick-or-treaters.
1 16 oz. can of pumpkin puree or 2 cups of your own homemade pumpkin puree
2 cups of skim milk
1 banana makes it really creamy
2 tsp. of ground cinnamon
2 tbsp. of brown sugar
To add a pumpkin flair, cut out green pumpkin stems from green construction paper and use a hole puncher on the top and bottom. Insert straws through holes to create a cute pumpkin stem topper for your Pumpkin Pie Smoothies. Of course, a dollop of whip cream doesn't hurt either.
A Pumpkin Pie Smoothie works as a breakfast on the go, party snack or family dessert. This one is so good (and good for us) that we keep enjoying it long after Halloween.
Eye Ball Meat Balls:
Meat balls, whether homemade or frozen and brought to life in the crock-pot are always a winner. To turn your meatballs into eyeballs, you'll need a tub of cream cheese and some sliced black olives and sliced green olives. Simply put your meatballs on a toothpick, add a dab of cream cheese and alternate with black or green olive slices for a great Halloween party "look."
Witches Brew:
If you're hosting a Halloween party or play date in your home, don't forget to make up some Witches Brew for the moms and dads. Make your own favorite coffee and have out some chocolate or caramel dessert toppings and whipped cream to warm up the parents and help them keep up with the happy trick-or-treaters.
