Every year there is a huge amount of talent that decides to declare for the NFL draft. Each team is given seven picks and they must evaluate everyone in an attempt to find the players who will be stars someday. This is a very difficult but crucial task and it can determine what teams will be successful down the road.
Rookies that make immediate impacts have to have a couple things other then talent. To start they must have playing time. What that means is if they are a quarterback, even if they are chosen first overall that does not mean they are going to get the starting job or get to play at all. They also have to have a good surrounding environment. Not just other talent, there must be good coaching, management in addition to talent on the field. These are the players that I think have the best chance to make a huge impact on the field in 2009.
Knowshon Moreno
This dynamic running back out of Georgia has found himself in a great situation. Drafted 12th overall by the Denver Broncos, he has a great coach in Mike Shanahan, and a good team around him. There is not much competition at the running back position in Denver and with the new quarterback, he is sure to get a lot of playing time. Be sure to watch this fast, quick, explosive running back as he makes an impact in his first season
Straight out of Florida the 2009 NCAA champions, Percy Harvin has got that playmaking ability that compares to Reggie Bush. He was picked number 22nd into a great situation. With the best running back in the league Adrian Peterson and a hall of fame quarterback in Brett Farve he has a chance to really excel in Minnesota. With his speed and ability, you will see Percy Harvin on the Sport center highlights a few times.
Chris Wells
Picked 31st in the first round, Chris is an extraordinary talent on a team that was a play away from winning the super bowl, the Arizona Cardinals. Starter Edgerrin James left for free agency and that left a whole in the running back position that the Cardinals hope to fill with Chris Wells. They Cardinals have a strong offensive line and everything is pointing to a productive season for this rookie out of Ohio State. His mix of power running and speed has usually spelled success in the NFL.
March Sanchez
This is the on I am not completely sure about. The talent is there but the team is in need of a little work. He will have the starting job and they have a good running back in Tomas Jones. He shows promise and I think he has more talent than Matthew Stafford and he was put in a must better situation. Put Mark on you list of Rookies to make an impact.
These are not the four best players in the draft but they have the best chance to have a good rookie season. These are the players that are going to surprise everyone as rookie playmakers and game changers.
