He says I don't want to be here but I don't think anyone does
I see people dying in front of me, tomorrow my fate could be known
I want to know what I'm fighting for, life and liberty doesn't ring true
He says I'm tired of running away, don't know what I'm gonna do
Maybe I should try something new, maybe I should see you
Its been days and nights, I'm alone without you, my love for you sees me through
I hope you're still waiting for me, hopefully I'll be home soon
So if anyone knows the answers to this war I'm fighting for
Won't someone please tell me so I know what I might die for
They tell me its about weapons but what I see is so much greed
Trying to control something, something we already have and don't need
So I'm here with a promise of a future, bribe me with an education
I'm so blinded by easy street that I don't see how used I am
I am a mule for this country to step on, send me where they want more
Innocent souls crying and the blood of loved ones wash ashore
Maybe I'm wrong for thinking, but politics are controlling this war
Maybe you should listen to the blood as it washes ashore
I'm so tired of seeing our country attacking the world
Maybe we should start living and clean the blood from our shoes.
