How to stay motivated and succeed in the workplace

The first step to finding motivation in the workplace is to be involved with a positive group of people instead of the naysayers who hate their job and believe they will never achieve anything. You are the product of your environment. So if you believe what the people you hang around with believe, this is who you will become.

Negative influences are people who believe poor management and poor leadership determines their lack of success, when the truth is, you determine how your success will be achieved and you determine how you can influence motivation in the workplace. If you are the only one who wants to turn things around and succeed, it is up to you to do so.

If you go to work every day and 'socialize' with the people with different goals than you, that's who you will become. The habit ingrained in your head will be the same type of negativity that does not promote motivation in the workplace.

For success oriented people, it is important to get in the way of like minds who want to improve themselves and who have similar goals. Consider this; once you take one day off from accomplishing your goals, you have three make-up days to get back to where you were the day before you took off!

It is just like taking time off for vacation. You work hard before you leave in order to catch up. Then you go on vacation for 5 days. By the time you get back, it takes 15 (3x5) days to catch up to where you were before you left!

The cycle is the same with your mental well-being. In order to find motivation in the workplace, the practice of a positive attitude needs to be formed.

Any day you miss to achieve your goals, for whatever reason; will turn into weeks, months, and the next thing you know you are so far out you do not know how to get back on track. Your motivation in the workplace is completely lost, and you in turn transfer your negativity to other people.

This is the nature of any type of goal setting and achievement program. Only the ones who want it bad enough stay true to themselves and go all the way. You will never know how your life will be if you quit on yourself and the lack of motivation in the workplace is likely to be from people who have already quit on themselves.

Set your goals! Look at them everyday and let those visual statements remind you not to quit!

They say less than 5 percent of all people write their goals down. Of that 5 percent, only 3 percent view their goals on a regular basis. That 3 percent are extremely successful people. (Reference:
