Poetry: Addiction

by GW Michaels

Created on: August 25, 2009

Addiction;

Rainy-day child to the sun he was born.

Soaring wings arisen to clouds of a thorn.

Manifesting evil, lifeless and torn.

Silver-tong devil will never be scorned.

Worms crawling on highways of gold.

Never reaching the end, American stories told.

My spirit grows wiser with every taken path.

A story book ending will never come to past.

Melting veins in the arms that sleep.

Mountains grow smaller with every breath I keep.

I have arisen to break-through the barriers of this earth.

People tremble by the size of my girth.

I'll show you paradise just six feet below the sand.

A stream of blood flows through a black mans hand.

Age defiling darkness, rooms on an empty land.

Pimps and harlots chasing a one-shot utopia strain.

I'm hidden in the minds of everyone you meet.

My powers are endless, so grasping, dark and deep.

I get a new surge from the people I can't stand.

Addictions my name, will you ever understand?
