In the Name of Conformity

Heads on rocks,
crashing like waves,
foaming with rabid confessions.
Matted brains
painting the stone
with the art of their own obsessions.

If they can't get it out of you,
they'll beat it out of you,
and add insult to every deformity.
It's amazing what people will do
In the name of conformity.

Slaughtered sheep
soften the ground,
oozing lethargic resentment.
Eyes plucked out like plums,
blind to the pain
and the farce of their own contentment.

If they can't con it out of you, they'll cheat it out of you,
Then tell you their God is your sovereignty.
It's amazing what people will say
in the name of conformity.

Tangled tresses,
knotted in clumps
and nailed to the wall like a tapestry.

Paper thin skin,
sink you teeth right in.
Taste the blood of the almighty majesty.

If they can't suck it out of you,
they'll eat it out of you,
then chew it in all its enormity.
It's amazing what people will swallow in the name of conformity.
