Poetry: Being trapped

by April Miller

Created on: August 25, 2009

Something Breaking
Almost fading
Slipping away
Into what seems like yesterday

Darkness shatters
All light
All happiness
Till it's only a memory

I've seem to have lost all faith
All hope in morning
Lost sight of what I was searching for
I feel so broken

People slip away
I watch them fade away into shadows
Distant memories
Now just glimpses into the past

Every thing feels so lost
So uninviting
So reckless
And unnerving

I watch as the world progresses around me
Thriving and continuing on
People living their lives
Going on like nothing is wrong

I feel so lost
So trapped
I feel like I've been put into a personal nightmare
And I'm the main character
That if I really were to watch my self
Fade away, that it might happen for real

I feel doomed
So apprehensive

But would you do me a favor?
Just don't remind me that what's happening is real
Cause I would rather dream this reality
Than live it
