Competition in school is helpful to the students. Having competition makes learning fun, it gives the students motivation, and it also gives them a challenge and reasons to pay attention.
Competition in school makes the learning process fun. Kids can participate in games like spelling games or jeperady. When they play these games children get points for answering correct answers to the questions. Kids like playing these games because it gives them a break from the regular lectures and tests. It also can offer rewards such as homework passes or candy to who ever or the team the wins each game. Jeperady games can fit into all most every type of subject and be formed around almost any type of material. This is also gives a child or student a chance to learn what they already know and what the things to study more are before a big test.
Students often need more motivation in the classroom. This gives them self support to want to do better and learn more. It also gives them more motivation to ask more questions and to farther there study about the subject outside the classroom. Good ways to help students to get motivated can be as simple as saying good job or giving them stickers. A teacher could also reward students for raising their grades by giving them prizes or candy for every A they get on papers or on tests.
Competition gives them a challenge. A challenge to want to be the best in class which makes them be better at school and to recieve better grades. It also gives them more reason to pay attention in class. When they pay attention in class they learn more. This also gives some of the kids reason to not sleep in class and to study more at home and in class. When they pay attention the students are more likeyly to understand the material that is being taught and more likely to ask a question when they do not understand something. They are also more likely to finish their homework and to turn in projects on time and even more likely to turn assignments in early.
Students enjoy competition in the classroom. Competition gives them motivation and a challenge. It also brings fun and entertainment into the learning environment. So should their be competition in schools? Yes there should be because it helps the students to get better grades and to try harder in school.
