Little ways to earn extra income

During today's global economic meltdown, people are having even more of a hard time finding ways to make ends meet, let alone buy themselves something that they want or need. People just do not have the disposable income to purchase non-essential items with these days, unless they have strong job security, like in a union setting. Finding ways to make a little extra money here and there will allow people to make those purchases, or to help pay off their debts, mortgages, car payments, and so on.

There are many different ways to earn a little extra money now and then for the people who are willing to do a little extra work. Low-income earners, people on disability or welfare, and people just experiencing a bad financial time can all find a way to pad their wallets a little more in these tight economic times. There are writing sites, like Helium.com and Associated Content, where people can write articles espousing knowledge in various categories for a small remittance, survey sites, and writing reviews, for sites like reviewstream.com.

It may seem like a lot of work for small pay, but when added up over a period of a few months, the earnings can prove fairly substantial. Buying a new LCD large screen television with three month's worth of earnings from online writing is very attainable. One article written can be submitted to three or more writing sites, earning money from each site that accepts your articles.

When you write a few hundred articles, all of those small remittances add up, and things that were out of your financial grasp are all of a sudden within it. There are also sites on the Internet where you can take surveys for rather small pay, but when compared to researching and writing a 500 word fact-based article, that half an hour survey for $0.50 doesn't seem so bad. Do 2 or 3 surveys at a time, and they will all add up quickly.

For people with lots of junk around the house, growing children or too many collectibles, having a yard sale every now and then can get rid of extra stuff that just takes up space, and add a few dollars for the grocery list. Place a table out in front of your home, and put your valuables on top of it. Hang clothes from sturdy clothes hangers, and place all of your read books in boxes around the tables. Children's clothes, toys and accessories usually sell well, as do adult clothing. Have fun meeting new neighbors, and making a few extra dollars at the same time. Garage and yard sales can earn the homeowner a few hundred dollars
