You and your family are planning on taking your first camping trip. What should you take? Packing for a camping trip depends on how many people are going, how long you will be staying, and where it is you are planning to stay.
Once you have figured out the who, where, and how long you can begin to make a list of the things you will plan to take. Packing for a camping trip really is not all that stressful as long as you are prepared and know the things you may need.
The first thing you will need to think about is how you are going to get to the place you are staying at and how much room you will have to pack everything keep this in mind while you make your list.
The next step is where and what will you sleep on? Deciding this can become one of the biggest problems with packing. Will you sleep in tents? If so how many tents will you need for the amount of people who are going? Will you stay in a RV? Will you need to rent the RV or do you own one? If you need to rent one how much does it cost and for how many days?
How much food will you need? And how will you cook it? Bring paper plates and plastic silver wear to use. Will there be a fire available to use for cooking? You may need to buy the outdoor cooking utensils to cook on a fire. Bring lots of snacks and plenty of drinks. You will need a cooler and maybe even more then one of them. A fun thing to cook and to eat while camping is smores and marshmallows. To make these you will either need to find a stick or buy the utensil for cooking marshmallows at the store. The items you will need to make a smore is graham crackers, Hershey chocolate bars, and marshmallows. The first step in cooking these is to cook the marshmallow over the fire. Cook the marshmallow to be as dark or warm to your liking. Next break a piece of chocolate bar off and place it on one graham cracker then place the cooked marshmallow on top of these two pieces then place another graham cracker. Then enjoy and eat the smore.
Some other things you will need on a camping trip is clothes, plenty of clothes to change into and do not bring new clothes or clothes that you would not want to get dirty. Bring tons of bug spray. Fishing poles to go fishing on or by a lake. Bring swimming suits and any other swimming gear so you can go swimming. Bring a radio to listen to music. Flashlights and extra batteries to see in the dark. Suntan lotion so your skin will not get burnt. Bring a jacket in case it gets cold. And make sure to pack an emergency kit.
This should help you to start a camping list of the things that will be needed.
