Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is the most powerful woman in America. The congresswoman from San Francisco is the second most powerful person in America (The Speaker has a more powerful position than Vice President) and second in line to the Presidency. Those are frightening facts because Pelosi is a horrendous choice to be Speaker of the House.
The Democratic Party obviously endorses Pelosi but there has been criticism within her own party. Rep. Jim McDermott of Washington stated Pelosi is not left enough to suit the radical wing of the party. Perhaps her refusal to support impeachment proceedings against President Bush has something to do with that opinion.
The big questions to ponder are, what special powers and secrets does Pelosi possess to have muscled her way up the congressional food chain from whip to minority leader to Speaker? What strings were pulled, what holds does she have, what deals and trade offs were made? How else could this incompetent person become Speaker of the House?
There is no questioning Pelosi must be a brilliant politician (or at least the team behind her is) because no one spends 22 years in Congress and ascends to Speaker of the House without exceptional political savvy and back room political skills.

She hails from that most radical left elitist of radical left elitist cities, San Francisco, where Pelosi views the world from the affluent perch of her mansion.
She is more political animal than public servant. Pelosi obtained her seat in the 8th Congressional District of California through what can politely be labeled a "fix." Longtime Representative Philip Burton died and his office went to his activist wife Sala. When she was diagnosed with cancer, Burton handpicked Pelosi as her successor with the full weight of the Burton political machine in support. Pelosi barely won the Democratic nomination in a special election and her victory is
