Have you ever wish that you have a magic wand to help you apply makeup on those morning you overslept. Putting on makeup when you are in a rush isn't difficult. Everyday makeup, whether it is for work or school run can be easily put on in 5 minutes.

Here are tips on how to put on makeup in 5 minutes:

Have the basic makeup tools ready. Basic makeup tools include a sponge applicator for foundation, eye liner, mascara, concealer, single shade eye shadow and lipstick.

Start with a clean face. Apply moisturiser with SPF on your face. Moisturiser nourishes your skin and creates a barrier from makeup. If you have a clear complexion, using tinted moisturiser can help save time on makeup as it can also be used as a foundation.

If you need to cover problem skin area such as dark circles under the eyes, brown spot, blemishes and scars, use a concealer. Dab concealer gently and naturally on these areas. Do not over apply.

Use a makeup sponge to apply foundation on your face. Makeup sponge makes applying foundation easy and fast. You will get a smooth and even complexion. If you are using liquid foundation, follow up with a few puff of powder to ease any sheen. Cream to powder foundation goes on smoothly on skin. It gives a good coverage in one application.

If you want to a quick application of eye shadow, stick to a single shade. Use light pastel colour for a natural look with minimum or no correction.

Next, use an eyeliner pencil to shape your eyes. Apply eyeliner on the upper and lower eyelid, under your eyelash. Use a Q tip or a smudge tip of an eyeliner to soften the lines.

Quickly apply mascara on eyelashes, using quick zig zag movement to cover the lashes. Restrain blinking your eyes for a few seconds or at least till mascara dries. You would not want any smudges to slow down your makeup application.

Lastly, complete your look with a lipstick colour that complements your eye shadow and your outfit. It is always handy to have one or two neutral colour lipstick. That is lipstick shade that goes well with any look. Otherwise, a lip gloss will work as well.

Do not complicate with too many eye shadow colours. It is also not the time to try new makeup style. Keep the basic makeup tools handy. The secret for putting on makeup in 5 minutes is to keep it simple and natural.
