The advantage of the internet is convenience for the computer savvy. If someone wants to learn how to speak Spanish for instance, it is now easy to just Google the terms "Learn Spanish" and there would be pages galore filling up your screen with sites where you can learn it.

Another learning advantage of the internet, is whatever you'd like to refresh on, you may do so with a click. There are sites like

W3schools.com, Bartleby.com. and About.com. W3schools.com is a site full of free materials to help you learn web design, while Bartleby.com offers classic literature to read including modern works. About.com is a site dedicated to online resources in anything from Art History to Marketing.

Having the internet may just eliminate people from taking a course and paying for it, especially since there is so much to learn from the experts on the web. Currently I am learning Ad Copywriting, not in school but from the web.

Another advantage of the internet is the power of videos you can upload at any time of day or night. Some people may frown on YouTube because anything can be placed on there, but it is fertile ground for amateur video makers who want to be known and recognized for their video techniques and various talents.

Videos also help you learn a particular art. Type in Tai Chi into YouTube's search box and hundreds of videos of experts demonstrating this beautiful movement is pulled up, click on the video and you can follow along. After watching for a few weeks or months, you may even master it; all because of the power of the internet.

The internet also increases the advantage of being able to work from home. There are so many online sites looking for writers, typists, web designers and so on. The downside is you have to use common sense and not give out your information to every site you come across. Favorite work from home sites that are legit are: elance.com. odesk.com,Cloud 10 and helium.com. At each of these sites, it's as simple as filling out an online application and uploading a resume. Helium.com is a great place for writers to work from home and they have writing contests, even better!

The advantage of the internet is that you become like a spider, you have your net stretched out before you, gathering nuggets of knowledge.
