Poetry: Imagine

by William Engelman

Created on: August 23, 2009   Last Updated: August 25, 2009

Imagine!
Stars entrenched,
Behind war torn
Shoulders; Falling
onto an empty ground.
No meaning to these Roots,
As all are diluted and burned by
Careless thoughts of
running black tides.
Shining in the moonlight
Catching shards of white!

Imagine!
How peaceful was life?
Before the flowers bloomed
unspoken colors of crossed genes.
Upon the new chaos
winds are carrying all
nectar to scattered gravel.
No life can be given.
Spare us the crying hummingbird
That lays decaying at
The bottom of all things
Once thought divine.

Imagine!
As the blue flaps in gusts
Storms become untamed.
The running of humanity
In to these whirlpools of time!
Man has not awoken
From his long slumber,
When things became typed
And experienced on this screen

Imagine!
The outside is becoming
A memory of what was.
Sitting around this globe
Has become social norm.
Please God Forgive us
As we sloth are way to the end.
Forgiveness shall be found in code.
