Poetry: The vision of us

by Rachael Joseph

Created on: August 23, 2009

She dreamed a dream she'd never dreamed before

A garden of roses, a hundred or more

Half awake, sharing a perfect kiss

Gentle but deep, no kiss as right as this

In the arms of a stranger the moon became the sun

She questioned herself, could he be the one?

That kiss brought her back a hundred times or more

That kiss never stopped him from walking out the door

They tried their best

But they were better of as friends

Just two kids, living for weekends

She was lured by fate a thousand miles away

She promised that she'd write him every day

A visit here and a visit there was all

An incredible summer, followed by a lonely fall

Another difficult year, the summer will be a ball

They'd both grown up and he was ready for it all

Never again will he let her slip away

He'd ask this girl to marry him someday

He wonders why his love was blind and wrong

Never knowing what he had, until it was gone

She dreamed a dream, she'd never dreamed before

A garden of roses, a hundred or more
