Bladder infections are never a good thing to have. They can be painful, and usually are. The effects of having a bladder infection include a burning sensation that one experiences when urinating. In turn, this causes a painful bathroom experience. Bladder infections occur when E. coli enters the urethra and stays there. Therefore, when urinating, the bacteria irritate the bladder walls. The good news is that bladder infections can be relieved using acts that can be performed at home. What are some of these acts?
Drink Lots Of Fruit Juice
Fruit juices tend to have high doses of Vitamin C. This specific type of vitamin is helpful in relieving the bladder infection. This is because Vitamin C will help acidify the urine. Therefore, when going to the bathroom, this acidic urine will help combat against the bacteria, and, in turn, the growth of this bacteria will cease.
Take Pain Relievers That Include Aspirin
Aspirin and certain other pain reliever ingredients, such as ibuprofen, help cope not only with the pain, but also in reducing inflammation. This would be beneficial in helping cope with a bladder infection because since the aspirin or ibuprofen would reduce inflammation in the bladder, this would in turn reduce the burning sensation that one would experience whilst urinating.
Urinate Frequently
Though it is true that urinating will produce a burning sensation, it would be best to urinate as often as possible. This is because every time you urinate, you would be flushing out some of the bacteria causing the burning sensation in the first place. Therefore, the more you urinate in the long run, the faster the bacteria will be flushed out. A common act is that people with bladder infections try not to urinate so as not to experience the burning sensation. This would be a terrible thing to do. Though you would avoid experiencing pain by not urinating, the bacteria would still be present within your body. And if it is left there, it would simply start growing even further, causing more serious problems with time. These problems could include fever, nausea and vomiting, and even traces of blood within the urine. These are never good signs, so experiencing a burning sensation and flushing the bacteria out would be better than not experiencing any pain but leaving the bacteria there to cause further problems.
With proper care, bladder infections can be relieved at home. However, if you experience any problems, be sure to go to the doctor for further advice and treatment. Stay safe.
