In a new and evolving society, the old ways don't work anymore. The children of this society are bullying their way to get what they want and if you follow the old traditional ways being strict like your parents were, these kids will ferociously fight back and get what they want they are destined to eventually get what they want. These are the kids coming up in the world and they have every way to show you what is not done right. The fact is our society now is based on old rigid ways. We have believed in the past that kids must go to school for about 17 to 18 years and then go to work for more years to eventually make a difference in the world. The world is ever changing and these systems must change including parenting style.

How to discipline a child when your child is in control of you? If it is a child that is growing up in the 21st Century then the style of parenting should adapt to the 21st Century and still not be stuck in the 1st Century. These same principles have carried over many generations and should be changed to the times. The techniques have been to either hit your child for behaving badly or scolding them for doing something wrong or even the newest discipline, let's medicate the child for misbehaving. Whether many parents realize this or not your kids will keep on spitting in your face and disrespecting you for it. And you as parents have to realize whats going on you to realize that these old ways don't even apply to our lives any more. It your 40 or 50 years old and are raising a child, you grew up in a time where being strict was the way of the world and it was righteous to do. Because your parents wanted what was best for you. You grew up in a time where Patriotism with US vs. Communism was the best way for your country and your kids. And if your are 50 + years old raising a child you had color television and radio. This have changed in 50+ years. This is not to say that you didn't go through a lot or have many problems but the problems are enormous in the world especially after 9/11.

There is an unstable world right now. There is war in Iraq and constant battle in the Middle Eastern countries, China is rising power, Russia is almost back to where is was during Communism, the bottom line is we have world threats not only in the military sense but economically as well. We have problem in our country as well. Health care problems, financially we are headed in to a depression, Our economic source for this country is almost tapped. Its
