The Human Alliance of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne feature four distinct heroes from the Altar of Kings. There is the strong selfless Paladin, the stout Mountain King, the intelligent Archmage, and the powerful Blood Mages. Each one has their own strengths and weaknesses, but when combined they make an unstoppable team. After all they're called the "Alliance" for a reason.
The humans have two Strength based heroes and two Intelligence based heroes. The Paladin and the Mountain King focus on their strength and hitpoints while the Archmage and Blood Mage use their intelligence and spells to take down their enemies.
"The Paladin"
The Paladin is a melee hero who uses a war hammer for battle and his spells include the following: Holy Light, Divine Shield, Devotion Aura, and an ultimate of Resurrection. Holy Light is a must for all Paladins, but the choice between Divine Shield and Devotion Aura is simply opinion based.
Holy Light is simply a healing a spell for any living unit or hero. It can also be used to damage any Undead enemy, but since the amount of damage Holy Light can deal is only half of what it can heal, most people stick to just healing allies and units. The only problem is that Holy Light cannot be used to heal the Paladin himself. This means that other means of survival need to be used to keep the Paladin alive. This is where the Divine Shield comes in handy.
Divine Shield provides the Paladin with invincibility for a set amount of time. This is great for keeping the Paladin alive even if he gets completely surrounded by enemy units. However since the Paladin isn't actually a powerful hero because of his slow attack speed he tends to be more of an assisting hero. This means that Divine Shield isn't necessary as long as the Paladin is constantly running around and healing.
Devotion Aura is the perfect spell for a cautious Paladin that is only used for healing. It gives additional armor to any allied units or heroes nearby. Instead of running into battle with a Divine Shield up, a Paladin with the Devotion Aura can sit in the back of the battle and simply provide protection for all allies. That stacked with Holy Light is a perfect combination.
Resurrection is the Paladin's ultimate and simply brings back 6 dead allied units to life. However this can only be used to bring back 6 land units back from the dead.
"The Archmage"
The Archmage is a ranged hero who has the spells of Blizzard, Water Elemental, Brilliance Aura, and Mass Teleport. The
