There are a lot of ways to have success as an entrepreneur and franchises are a very easy and quick way towards the goal of becoming a successful business owner. Personally, I love businesses that are capable of giving you good money without a lot of effort and franchises give you that opportunity. I call them milky cows because you buy them, take a few minutes of your day checking if they're ok and the grateful things will ensure you a bottle of milk daily.
The advantages of starting a business with a franchise are many but I will list the most important ones below so you can get a glimpse of the effort you save by owning a franchise instead of starting a business from scratch:
No brand positioning: With franchises you don't have to worry about investing a lot of money on brand positioning. Customers already trust in established brands and consume their products or use their services so it's a lot easier being the owner of a well known business than starting one from scratch and having to develop strategies to create a popular brand. Also, by owning a franchise you only need to take care of your location as franchises take care of public advertisement, special offers, new products, slogans, etc. So it's basically a matter of keeping your location clean and having good communication with the franchise company to make sure you are up to date with your advertisement, products and services. This is not difficult as the majority of franchises already have processes to ensure all of their franchisees follow the same standard.
Logistic chain already created: When running a business there are a lot of aspects you have to take care of in order to run it properly. Aspects like suppliers, products, prices, quality standards, etc. Franchises already take care of all these aspects because they have established processes that have already made their companies grow. They provide all the contacts and information needed to follow a standard that is applied to every franchise they sell. As a franchisee you would become another node in their network and the majority of franchises make sure all of their nodes work exactly the same way.
Lower risk: Good franchises provide statistics and market studies that give you an estimate of what you can achieve by owning them. These studies allow you to be prepared for what's coming and let's face it; no one would set a franchise of a company that just doesn't work. Of course, I'm talking about good companies with franchise systems. Investing in a franchise gives you better chances of getting your money back along with some profit instead of taking the risk of starting a company that you can't tell people will like. Also, why creating a new brand that would compete an established one? Unless you have the money and a really good idea, it's easier to join it!
