Do you need help on making a shopping guide for your or your childs dorm room? Here is some advice on what you should put on the list.
Bedding- pillows, blankets, and sheets. One or two pillows should be good. A set or two of sheets and two or three blankets.
Computer- laptop and charger, or a pc. Any software that may be needed. Extra storage drives, a printer and paper.
Clothes- This should be planned for any type of whether. Shirts, long sleeved short sleeved and tank tops. Jeans, dress pants, and sweat pants. Hoodies, jackets, and a coat. Shorts a few different kinds. Shoes- tennis shoes, sandels, flip flops and dress shoes.
Cellphone and maybe a house phone.
Food- Snackes, microwavable meals, and ramon noodles. A microwave if not provided in the dorm and maybe a small storage. Dishes- cups, plates, bowls, and silverwear.
Money- always need extra cash for emergencies and for food and entertainment.
Cleaning utensils- Towels for the bath and for cleaning. A mop and vacumm. Shampoo and soap. Laundry soap and dryer sheets. A laundry basket. A duster.
School supplies- paper, notebooks, text books, binder, pens, pencils, folders, a desk possibly, backpacks or another type of bag, school id if available and flash cards.
Entertainment- tv, dvd players, a few movies, a game system, magazines and books.
Transportation- A car, or a bike. As well you may need a bus pass or a metrolink pass. Drivers liscense.
Important papers- Birth certificate, id, social secruity card, etc.
Hair and makeup- ponytails, hairbrush, face cleaner, hair spray, eye liner, and any other type of makeup you need.
Important phone numbers- docter, parents, and any other emergency number along with any alergies or health problems.
Pictures- for decoraton and to see familar faces such as friends or family. Candles can also be good for decoration.
Toliet paper- Bring a lot so you do not run out.
Any type of medicene you have to take.
Do not take pets they are usually not allowed in dorm rooms but also it can be hard to take care of them during the busy college semester.
Suntan lotion and a swimsuit just in case you end up going swimming somewhere.
When moving out for the first time from a parents house. It can be difficult. During the process you want to try to remember the things you need. Pack what is important first then move on to the less important things such as the entertainment areas or things that you could buy in the town where the dorm room is located.
