Poetry: Reflections of reality

Two women would be menaced by magic and much more.

An old woman sat cross-legged on the filthy, flea-infested floor.

89 years and eighty-nine dollars peered at the worn-out woman.

A magnificent mirror stood silently in front of a young woman.

22 years and 22 million dollars: a delicious dual reflection.

These two were related but unaware of the intense connection.

The young woman's life had always been touched by magic.

The old woman's life had always been tainted by everything tragic.

The mirrors began to gently shake; then they began to glow.

The change was immediate and bizarre yet excruciatingly slow.

The young woman soon absorbed nearly seven decades.

The old lady watched as the months and years began to fade.

Each stunned lady was amazed by the startling transformation.

Tears of terror and tears of joy mixed with wild yet mild anticipation.

Each befuddled woman was mystified by her unnerving reflection.

One trying to hide her inner confusion and the other her dejection.

Each lady hurled a heavy object at that wretched piece of glass.

Running outside...seeking solace on a beautiful bed of grass.

Sinewy reflections of reality meshed with a senseless set of surreality.

Sheer panic seductively yet sincerely shone from each startled woman.

Reflections of reality had twisted the scared soul of each winsome woman.

A feminine hodgepodge emerged, brimming with undeniable vitality.

They had become voiceless victims of a brand new mentality.

Then it finally came to them; one was the flower and one was the stem.

A granddaughter and grandmother had unexpectedly found each other.
