Is it better to watch movies in theaters or on DVDs at your home?

Watching movies at home or in theaters can be very enjoyable. But where is the best place to watch?

The theater offers an enjoyable night out with friends or family. Going out to the theater instead of staying home can be considered a special event or occasion. The best part of the whole thing is watching the movie on a really big screen, but is it really worth it? There are advantages and disadvantages to this. One advantage is you can watch a movie with a big group of people more than you would in your own home. Another advantage is you can see movies as soon as they come out instead of waiting months until it comes out on DVD. There are many disadvantages though. You have to sit in a very uncomfortable chair for hours, you can not pause the movie, and you do not get bathroom breaks. The cost is another factor, going out to the theater cost much more. There is the cost to see the movie, the cost of drinks, the cost of popcorn and other snacks, and maybe even the cost of games. In theaters people may become disturbing or interrupt the movie by talking, kissing, cellphones, or by getting up for snacks and the bathroom making you miss parts of the movie you are trying to watch.

Staying home to watch a movie offers just as much if not more enjoyments. You have a choice of watching movies alone, with a special someone, or with some friends. This is option offers more privacy. Privacy means that you will have all the interuptiions, and you can pause and start the movie anytime and as much as you want. Being able to pause the movie means you can get up for food and bathroom breaks as much as you like. This also means you could watch part of the movie before work then pause it and watch later on after work instead watching it all at once. One advantage is that you have comfortable seating and the option of laying down unlike at the movie theaters where you have to sit in the same position during the whole movie. Better and healthier choices of food. The cost of watching the movie is cheaper either by buying it or renting the movie. By watching the movie at home you can watch the movie as many times as you want.

So which one is better? In my opinion, staying home is much more enjoyable and costs less but it is still fun to go out to the movie theaters sometimes as a fun night out with friends or family.
