I have been a long time fan of Price Is Right. I remember watching Bob Barker on Truth or Consequences when I was very young, and I thought he was one of the best game show hosts on television. I remember my grandmother and I watching it when I would go to her house. She was a big game show fan and she passed that love along to me. I knew the day would come when he would no longer come into my living room and entertain me. When the day did come for him to announce his retirement I was devastated. I started wondering if the show would be able to continue, and if so, who could fill those wonderful shoes? I heard some of the rumors of who might try to take his place. Of course, none of those people even came close to the caliber of entertainer that Mr. Barker was to me.

I am not a big fan of Drew Carey, but I did enjoy his television show years ago. I watched his Price Is Right debut with an open mind. Even though I wasn't a huge fan I wanted to give him a chance, after all, I wasn't just a Bob Barker fan, I was also a fan of the show itself. He is doing an okay job as host, but after giving it a lot of thought I think I know who I would have enjoyed more. I would love to have seen Richard Karn become the host of Price Is Right. He did an outstanding job when he hosted Family Feud and I just find his personality so charming. He would have given the show humor and talent. I feel that he would genuinely root for the contestants as well as feel their pain when they didn't get that right price. Mr. Karn has charisma and a soothing voice quality that would have given the show what it needs.

While I still watch the Price Is Right, I find that I don't tune in as often as I used to. It used to be a regular routine for me to take my lunch hour when it was on. I would look forward to leaving my desk and running to the break room to heat my lunch and cheer for anybody and everybody that would be brave enough to play those games. I would play right along with them and try to win that boat or dream vacation. I find that now I am not so quick to run to the break room, and my lunch can sometimes wait a little longer.
