A part time for any college graduate can mean a lot of things. One may be looking at it to use it as a launch pad before he or she really jumps into the real world of cut throat competition. Or else someone can take up a job just to make some extra cash while studying and gain a on the job experience. Students also look out and opt for part time jobs as a financial aid for their studies. Here are some of the options that one may opt or depending on his aptitude, skills and flexibility of schedule.
Administrative jobs
These kinds of jobs are available in a number of industries and institutions. You may opt for bank tellers, admin assistants, library assistants and as personal secretaries in an off campus environment. The work may not seem glamorous or value adding but could be one of the best paid jobs if you get to find one with some reputed company. The qualifications for these are simple enough to get you through, if you can be relied on and have a hardworking nature; this is the job for you. As a personal assistant, you have to be flexible for travel and managing almost everything from helping with paperwork to running errands, fixing meetings etc.
It may be even better if you can find such an opportunity in your campus, Often such openings are available during season breaks or as part time where you would need to prepare reports, schedule meetings and conferences and many other academic or admin duties. With many colleges tightening security in the recent times you could choose to be a student attendant in your own dorm. But you should be willing to be a night owl. Keep a lookout for the job openings in your campus notice board.
Computer Jobs
If you like tapping and scrolling and also understand a good bit of the common applications like MS Word and Excel, you can be good as a Computer Support person. There are quite many kinds of part time jobs available in this category like assistant jobs in labs or as a support specialist or trouble shooter. Your skills and level of interest would determine what kind of job you can choose or get. Your pay would be higher if you are a very good techie. If you are studying something related to information technology, it's a good option to get started with this kind of job. And as long as you have done your part and there aren't any issues, you can have quite a good amount of time for your studies. If you are interested in the hardware side of it, you can work as a support person on campus also.
