If there is one thing I can say about Mike Vick it is that he is the most talented football player on the planet. Granted, his conduct in regards to his dogs was deplorable but was that conduct despicable enough to prevent the most talented player in football from playing for the rest of his potential playing days. Vick has a combination of qualities that every team in the NFL would drool over. He can scramble (run) like no-one else and can act under pressure without hesitation.
On top of these things he has one of the strongest and most accurate throwing arms out there. Michael Vick tortured dogs. Michael Vick can win a Superbowl. What shall we decide with regards to him. I don't have an answer for that but God will judge him for his actions at the end of his physical life. The Philadelphia Eagles decided to give him a second chance and fans whether you like it or not he will be back. Vick provided an available opportunity that was nearly impossible for many teams to pass up thus it was just a matter of time before he was scooped up. Vick will help the Eagles and let's just let God decide what his punishment should be when all is said and done. Would you drown a dog? Would you pass on the most talented football player in the game today?
The whole thing is a crapshoot and as far as the millions of dollars that he can potentially make, we need to realize that what is out of our hands is out of our hands. I think that Michael Vick had his head in the clouds when he was the superstar quarterback for Atlanta's Falcons and thought that he could do anything, say anything , and react in any way that he saw fit without consequence. The Philadelphia Eagles have showed me that a) they are willing to give Vick a second chance, but they have also showed me that b) they are a greedy team that values winning (which Vick can easily provide) over humanity and the way one conducts oneself towards mankind and the animals on this earth. I for one have no opinion on this issue but do feel as though it is sad that the deaths of animals is thought to be a lesser crime then the deaths of humans. Both scenarios are despicable, it is obvious which one is more accepted.
