College dorm room necessities

So you are now terrified to move into your new dorm room because of it's rumored jail cell like appearance. good news is, this doesn't have to be the case in your situation. As long as you know the necessities of what you will need as apposed to taking everything you own, your room actually can be quite homey, even with a new roommate living with you. Listed below are a few things that you ought to consider limiting yourself too as you being packing for your college experience.

Hangers

One of the most common things that college students forget to pack when getting ready to move are cloths hangers. Coincidentally, this is also a vital organizational tool when moving into your new room. While you are provided with a dresser in most dorm rooms, having a spare drawer or two can always help with organizing things other than cloths, and since you are provided a closet anyway, why not use it?

Bedding

Since it is necessary to sleep, naturally, it would be necessary to have bedding to sleep in. You do not want to get to college and realize that you have nothing to snuggle into at night. Make sure that you have picked out a comfortable bedding set that you not only like, but also find comfortable. Also, don't forget to bring pillows!

Air Fresheners

When packing for school, air fresheners for your room are another thing that many students overlook. Moving into a room that has been shut up for the summer can be both a fun and smelly experience, just make sure that you have something to make your room smell nice enough that you can stand to stay in it!

Cloths

So you are getting your cloths together but you don't know if you should take your Goofy slippers that you got in eighth grade. A general rule of thumb, if you have not warn a piece of clothing in the past year, do not take it. While you want to make sure you have things such as a raincoat, and a jacket for chilly days, you probably do not need to take all three of your prom dresses. Do make sure you have a pair of shower shoes however!

Bath Caddy

While you are getting to move away from your parents, you are also moving away from getting to share a bathroom with less than forty people. Since you are going to have to carry all of your shower supplies back and forth to the bathroom, you are going to want to have something to carry it in. Don't forget to pack some extra towels and washcloths! You will need them!
