Poetry: Vengeance

by Courtney Petrella

Created on: August 21, 2009

Vengeance is laughing in your face,

Vengeance is me finding solace in another man's embrace.

You bring it upon yourself in your lowest times,

You try to make up for it with what you think are clever little lines.

Vengeance for you, is living every day,

knowing that you caused it, not knowing what to say.

You talk, I cry, you scream, I cry,

I left, I ran, now it is your turn to feel like you want to die.

Vengeance is mine and mine to keep,

you can sit there, you can be angry, go ahead...cry.

You have nothing now, and never will,

I have found what I want and need, your angry words, hurt me still.

My vengeance tho in actuality is me knowing I can move on, and you have not,

I hope with your anger,my vengeance, and your black heart, you sit around and rot.
