Ever engaged in fierce gunfights? Ever torn down a road in a tank, wreaked havoc with a helicopter, or twisted and dived in daredevil aerial dogfights? Well, I have. I'm no marine, tank operator, or airman; I'm just your average gamer. But though I may be your average gamer, I enjoy playing a most unaverage game. Battlefield 2. This first person shooter lets you experience the true strategy, teamwork, and challenge that is today's modern combat. A player can fight as a United States marine, a soldier in the Chinese PLA (People's Liberation Army), or a member of the fictitious MEC (middle Eastern Coalition). The center of Battlefield 2 is its multiplayer mode, in which up to 64 players can come together and fight on maps ranging from a tropical island to an abandoned Middle Eastern City. Another great feature of BF2 is the many vehicles which the players are allowed to utilize. There are desert buggies for a quick getaway, armored SUV's for transporting a small squad, tanks to provide heavy support, APC's (Armored Personnel Transports) for safe transport to enemy lines, Helicopters to provide air support and take on tanks and APC's, and fast, nimble jets to hunt helicopters, bomb strategic targets, and engage in dogfights.
There are seven different soldier classes to play as. First is Special Forces, which is armed with a light machine gun, and C4 explosives to take out enemy targets. After Special Forces comes the Sniper class; Snipers are armed with a powerful rifle and scope, as well as Claymore mines, which explode when an enemy soldier walks by. Afterwards is the Assault soldiers, who form the backbone of the soldiers on the battlefield; they are armed with a machine gun, grenades, and and a grenade launcher. The support class is the heavies armed class in the game, though the slowest. The support class has a massive machine gun with hundreds of bullets, they also carry packs to rearm their teammates. The engineer class is armed with a shotgun, anti-tank mines, and a wrench which can repair all vehicles and machinery like artillery cannons or UAV trailers. My favorite class, the Medics are armed much the same like Assault class, except instead of having a grenade launcher they boast shock paddles which can revive critically wounded teammates. Finally is the Anti-tank class, which like the Special Forces also has a light machine gun. But the anti-tank soldiers also hold massive, over the shoulder rocket launchers dedicated to destroying tanks and all other
