Believing in the Lord is a glorious experience that can be equated to childhood. As a child, you depend on your mother to teach you the essentials of life. Eating, walking and speaking are all owed to you by your mother. When you begin to grow into young adulthood, you will need guidance and at times a shoulder to lean on. Parents are there for advice, discipline and to be the people who will listen no matter what. These life lessons are invaluable and will always be with you especially in hard times.
Jesus Christ is much like your parent when you were younger. He instills in you the building blocks of your spiritual life. He places a sense of faith in you and by following him faithfully he leads you to goodness. With Christ, you can be assured that you will have food on your plate and a roof over your head. When you begin to grow more into your spiritually and can be tempted, Christ is there for you in another capacity. He is always your guardian and protector. More importantly, he is there with you while you take on burdens and hardships.
Strengthening through Christ has a double benefit. One of the hardest aspects of a person to uplift is their spirit. At times someone can even physically carry you on but you will remain tired and weak. This is due to your lack of faith and contrite heart. Through Christ, your spirit and faith shall be replenished. Reading one of the many verses or parables of Christ is a way of strengthening your spirit. How many times have you been able to relate to the parable of the prodigal son? You were once lost in a land of sin but then you were found and returned to living a righteous life. This one parable can help you to rise up and surpass any obstacle that stood in your way.
An even more profound event that can happen through the power of Christ is that we can be strengthened physically. With the spiritual renewal, our bodies are no longer our own. You can say all you want that you cannot continue on walking that long road, but Christ holds you on your feet till the end. This is a glorious occasion and if brought through dark days, then you have truly been strengthened by Christ.
You may ask yourself, what things will Christ help to accomplish? Christ will help you through all things and everything. Questioning if your want is too big or too small is not the proper way of seeking strength through Christ. If you are performing the smallest of tasks such as baking a cake for your child's birthday to the difficult task of organizing
