Entertainment! I love the drama, competitions, and everything else that comes with reality TV. We all love a good drama to keep us entertained, even if its staged, we connect to contestants and love to watch all the crazy things they do.
My favorite reality show! People are locked up in one house, cut off from the world. They have to compete for Head of Household (H.O.H) and put two people up for eviction, but the two nominees and a few more players compete for the P.O.V (Power of Veto) which can take someone off the block and the H.O.H must put someone else in the saved nominee's place. I love the drama and fighting. It's entertaining. I love this season 11. I love the romance between Jeff and Jordan. Jesse who's full of himself and all of his followers, and annoying Chima. I love how Big Brother always has twists and a theme for each season. This season, they spilt the contestants into high school cliques: athletes, populars, off beats, and brainiacs. I don't like to watch the After Dark on ShowTime. The people are actually boring!
-Survivor
Who doesn't like to see people stranded on an island and have to go through competitions that can take teeth out. Well some don't, but again, its good entertainment. Moreover, that's what reality TV is about. The show consists of 16 castaways, 39 days, then at the end, one sole survivor. Each tribe competes for food, luxeries, and the all important "Immunity Power" to keep the tribe from having to vote someone out of the game. They must "Outwit, Outplay, and Outlast" the other contestants. I would never go on this show. I couldn't stand the living conditions and competitions. I love the host. He has a sense of humor unlike many reality TV hosts.
Twelve teams travel around the world and try not to be the last team to come to the pit stop at their destination. Some of the teams are fun to watch. The bickering married couple, the two blonde-haired women, the two older men, and there's always someone with their granddad and that team is always my favorite. I like the Detours and Road Blocks they have to compete to get to the pit stop. The Amazing Race is another great reality show to watch.
If I wrote about every reality show separately and how the show works and the contestants, I would have written a book. These were my favorite reality shows that I'm proud to say I watch regularly. There's other reality shows like, the Bachelor, American Idol, Real World, Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen, Project Runway, and the list goes on. All of these are competition shows, but there are shows where they just follow people around like the Real Housewives, Househusbands of Hollywood, Kendra, Ruby, and more. Reality might not be truly real, but it does make for great entertainmen
