Is an all-inclusive vacation package the right option for you? When it's time to plan your vacation you have a few choices. You can get an all-inclusive vacation package, a vacation package that doesn't include everything, or you could plan the trip entirely by yourself. In this article we'll explore the pros and cons of opting for an all-inclusive package so that you can decide which option is the best for your trip.
The Pros of an All-Inclusive Package
All-inclusive vacation packages are those that include airfare, hotel accommodations, tours and excursions, and most of the meals. These packages allow the vacationer to relax and enjoy the trip without worrying about everything. All you need is to just look at the itinerary and see what's next. These packages can also help you save money. Tour operators often receive bulk rates and group discounts for things like air fare and even hotel stays.
Some vacations take place in slightly dangerous or unsafe areas such as African safari tours. In trips like this, the travelers are treated to a tour of the African wilderness for the sole purpose of viewing wild animals. This is a prime example of a vacation that would benefit from being all-inclusive.These types of vacations are also good for people who don't particularly enjoy spontaneity.
The Cons of an All-Inclusive Vacation Package
One of the big problems I have with all-inclusive vacation packages is that they offer almost no room for spontaneity. Part of the fun of being on vacation is exploring new things. If you have a vacation package then the itinerary is likely focused on the places that tourists nt to visit. These aren't always the best.
For example, in Munich the standard beer hall that tourists visit is the Hofbrauhaus. In my opinion, this isn't the best choice - Schneider & Sohn is. But the all-inclusive packages usually include a stop to the Hofbrauhaus in their itineraries. Not to mention the fact that cities like Munich are rich with cultural experiences. You may not want to visit a beer hall at all. You may rather see an opera at the National Theater instead.
So if you are the type of person who likes to pull the rental vehicle over when you see something neat or get off the train at a different strop so you can explore, an all-inclusive vacation package is not for you. However, if you like to have everything planned out because it helps you relax or you decide to travel to a somewhat dangerous location, an all-inclusive package is a good bet for you.
