Explain the verse "Love your neighbor as yourself"

When God speaks to us, referring to our neighbors, He really means each other. All of us. Not just the people who live next door. We are all living in the same neighborhood called, " The Planet." Therefore we are all neighbors to each other no matter where we live. Government leaders of different countries continue to control their citizens. Citizens are not allowed to travel at will, without obtaining a visa or pass port. This is a form of slavery by restriction.

We must all put ourselves in each others shoes, to feel how others are struggling. When we love ourselves, we want the best for ourselves. We want to be be happy and feel secure. Only when we want the same for our neighbors, can we truly love them. It is not easy to do when selfishness, greed, and the lust for materialism temps us around every corner.

Satan and his angels of deception are planted everywhere. They work day and night putting evil thoughts in our head. Even as small children, we are taught to "become successful." The worlds view of success ,involves materialism, power, wealth and self-centeredness. We get sucked into the web of "Me, myself, and I." We love ourselves more than we love God, so how can we love our neighbors as we love ourselves.?

Before we can love our neighbors, we have to put the lust for materialism behind us, and turn to God. We have to learn to love God above all else. Once we dedicate our love to Him, he will open our hearts, and the love that pours out will flow to all his children, all over the Globe. Without God, Satan builds a wall around us, so we can only be concerned about ourself. Loving God with our whole heart, soul and mind, blows that wall apart, and we have more than enough love to share with all mankind. We can even love our enemies. We can understand that we also are the enemies of our enemies, therefore we are no better than they are.

There is a saying that goes,"God does not make Junk." God is full of mercy. He understands, and forgives anyone who pleads for His forgiveness, and desires to learn of his commandments. God is Love. He loves all of us, and wants us to love each other as he loves us. If we all loved our neighbors as we loved ourselves, we would create the perfect world that God had intended for us in the first place.
