EAGLE SOAR

Inside this cell the bars are strong,
The fence is high, the wire long.
My heart does ache, my tears do flow,
My mind looks up from here below.
Inside this place it's hard to see,
Why you have done, what you've done to me.

I long to touch and hold you tight,
But someone new you are with this night.
How do I let this pain subside,
And keep intact my manly pride.
My love for you is never shy,
As does the eagle soar the sky.

You can not feel this pain within,
With a cold hard heart, you turn and grin.
How long must I suffer, I do not know,
I want to meet you, you do not show.
You come to life but in my dreams,
They turn to nightmares, then to screams.

I must let go is what I'm told,
But you know me I'm very bold.
I tried and tried, but did not win,
Lost control committed sin.
Thoughts of you rage inside,

Until I attempted suicide.
A tear does not your eyes shed,
Into the arms and another man's bed.
Of me you miss, you love, you care,
But this to me, you will not share.
My time is short, I'll say goodbye,
And like the eagle soar the sky.
