I agree to an extent that the Football League has more to offer English soccer fans than the Premier League.
First and foremost, we should make a comparison between the top Division of the Football League (The Coca-Cola Championship) and the very top division in England, which is the Premier League. In the Premier League, competition is at a premium, reason being that only 3-4 teams at most have a realistic chance of clinching the much coveted trophy even though there are 20 teams competing. These so-called "Big-4" teams in the Premier League are Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and lastly Arsenal. Besides these 4 big teams in the division, the rest of the clubs are (with all due respects) small clubs with no realistic chance whatsoever to break the dominance of the top four (breaking into the top four) let alone landing the Premier League Trophy. To make matters worse, if we look at the statistics of the Premier League in the recent seasons, the Premier League is extremely boring no thanks to the fact that Manchester United have been winning the Premier League trophy 3 times on the trot so far and many are tipping them to win their fourth consecuive title at the end of the current season. Personally, I am really finding the league very very boring due to this sheer predictablitity and I wonder what are the points of the rest of the clubs competing in the Premier League if we already know that Manchester United are going to win the title at the end of the season.
On the other hand, if we take a look at the Coca-Cola Championship for instance, we could see very very clearly that the winners of the division are not that predictable and that every year we have different winners. I know people would blast me by mentioning the obvious fact that the reason why the winners change every season is simply because of the fact that the top 2, as well as the play-off winners are all promoted to the Premiership, but they are replaced by 3 teams which are relegated from the Premiership, and that these 3 relegated teams are usually hot-favorites to bounce straight back up to the Premiership the following season. Despite this fact, it's not always the relegated teams bouncing straight back up to the Premiership at the first attempt. (with the exception of yoyo clubs like West Brom) Many of them are in fact still to go down further to League One (such as Southampton and Charlton recently). Thus, the winners are usually the teams people least expected to win it at the
