$40 A Day is a daily, 30 minute program brought forth by the Food Network.
Entering its 5th year, $40 A Day is hosted by the hip, highly energetic queen of EVOO, Rachael Ray. A key component to the program's success, Rachael is known for her endearing catch phrases such as yumm-o and delish.
The program focuses on dining comfortably in cities around the United States and the world on a food budget of $40 for a period of 24 hours. The budget includes food items, beverages, tax and tips for three meals, or in some cases, two meals and a hearty late afternoon snack. Racheal's ability to make budget is further solidified by her prior research of the area in focus and guidance from locals once she has reached her destination.
Rachael's seemingly endless knowledge of the finer points of food and libations also brings forth some of the focused region's best cultural establishments while continuing to keep to her budget.
Through the course of the program, Rachael offers tips on how to stretch the $40 budget even further while not compromising taste and atmosphere. She also offers tips and information, events, happenings and things to do, along with panoramic views of some of the nicer areas of scenery while in a particular city. Shows focusing on foreign cities bring to the viewer priceless history and trivia about the various regions while continuing to stay in focus of the program's direction.
For the traveler, $40 A Day is an invaluable tool and its cost is only 30 minutes of your time.
