Marriage is a very ancient institution and very sacred, too. It is a kind of unwritten bond between two people. In ancient days, the marriages were based on social, political and economical factors rather than emotional and personal. In ancient times it was an unbreakable bond, but later separation and divorce introduced in the society.

Marriage is very serious decision in life. In present time, people chose their life partners on the basis of their emotional attachment, love and personal preferences. Most of us take our decision of getting married or who would be our life partner on the basis of our emotions. For a successful marriage, love and emotional attachment is necessary, but sometimes such marriages also fail. So many people often regret for their decisions about choosing the wrong life partner and break the bond of marriage, and many kill the marriage because of their mistakes and ignorance.

Now the question arises; that what are the reasons behind a dying marriage? When marriages die, people blame their partners. However, it is true that involved people are responsible for a dying marriage, but they never pay attention that what is killing their relationships.

The things which kill the marriage are:

# Lack of respect: Respect for each other is very necessary for a successful and long-lasting marriage. A couple should respect each other's emotions, desires, friends, relatives, etc. When any of the partner feels that other one is not giving enough respect to his/her things, then it becomes the cause for fights between them and such fights take away the happiness from the marriage. When a partner feels that other one is not giving proper respect, then he/she feels low self-esteem, which can also become a reason for a dying marriage.

# Lack of intimacy and love: Sometimes romance and intimacy starts disappearing from the marriage because of several reasons like sickness, fights, extra-marital affairs, etc. Sex and romance is very important spice of marriage and in absence of both, color of marriage fades.

#Lack of communication: Communication helps in building the base of any relationship stronger. A marriage becomes lifeless in absence of proper communication. Less communication not only creates the distance between couples but it also creates the doubts and hatred.

# Lack of trust: Disbelief or distrust is another factor which can kill marriage. Without trust no relationship can survive and it also applies to relationship between a husband and wife.

# Dishonesty: Sometimes many marriages die because of dishonesty or cheating of anyone partner. It is really very hard to digest dishonesty or cheating of partner.

# Bad habits: Habits like alcoholism, drug abuse, gambling, etc, are also spoils the marriage. If any of the partners have such bad habits, then it becomes the reason for big fights and differences.

There are several other factors which can kill the marriage such as ego, money, family problems, etc. To save the marriage, it is necessary for every married couple to identify the causes that are disturbing their relationship.
